About this policy

This policy explains how Crest Promotional Products (ABN 70 694 082 249) (Crest Promos, we, us) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit crestpromos.com.au, ask for a quote, place an order or otherwise deal with us.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. By using our website or giving us your details, you agree to us handling your information as described here.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to quote, produce and deliver your order and to run and improve our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:

  • Contact details, such as your name, company or club, email address, phone number and delivery address.
  • Enquiry and order details, such as the products, quantities, occasion, event date, budget and any message you send us.
  • Files you upload or email to us, such as logos, artwork and photos. If a photo shows other people, please only send it if you have their permission.
  • Billing details needed to invoice you. We do not store full credit card numbers on our website.
  • Records of our calls, emails and other communication with you.
  • Technical and usage information collected automatically when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and actions such as opening or submitting a quote form. More detail is in the cookies and tracking sections below.

You can browse our website without telling us who you are. If you do not give us the details we ask for, we may not be able to quote or fulfil your order.

How we collect it

  • When you fill in a quote or contact form on our website.
  • When you call, email or meet with us, or send us artwork.
  • When you place an order or become a customer.
  • Automatically, through cookies, pixels and similar technologies when you use our website.
  • From third parties in limited cases, such as a colleague who places an order for you, or advertising platforms that tell us an ad led to an enquiry.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes, mock-ups and proofs.
  • To produce, decorate and deliver your order, and to invoice and get paid.
  • To provide customer service and keep records of what we have made for you, so reorders are easy.
  • To run, secure and improve our website, including understanding which pages and products people are interested in.
  • To measure how well our advertising works and to show relevant ads on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Google.
  • To send you updates, offers and ideas if you have agreed to hear from us. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations and to protect our rights.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Our website and the tools we use also rely on similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage. We use them to:

  • Keep the website working, for example remembering the items in your enquiry list.
  • Understand how visitors use our website (analytics).
  • Measure and improve our advertising (marketing).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the website may not work as intended, but you can still contact us by phone or email.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use our website, such as which pages are visited, how long people stay, the device and general location (city or region), and whether a quote form was submitted. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address to do this. We do not use it to identify you by name.

You can stop Google Analytics collecting data about you by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage how Google uses data for ads in your Google account settings.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use tools from Meta Platforms (the company behind Facebook and Instagram) to measure and improve our advertising on those platforms.

The Meta Pixel is a piece of code on our website that sends information to Meta from your browser when you visit a page or take an action, such as opening or submitting a quote form. It can use cookies, including Meta's own cookies, and shares information such as your IP address, browser details, the page you visited and the action you took.

The Meta Conversions API sends similar event information to Meta directly from our server rather than from your browser. We use it so our ad reporting is accurate even when browser tracking is blocked or limited. When you submit a form, the information we send can include:

  • The event, such as a lead or quote request, with the time and the page it happened on.
  • Your email address and phone number, which are hashed (converted into a scrambled code) before they are sent, so Meta receives a code rather than the details themselves.
  • Your IP address and browser details, and Meta cookie identifiers (such as the click ID added when you arrive from a Meta ad).
  • A unique event ID so Meta does not count the same action twice.

Meta uses this information to match website actions to people who saw or clicked our ads, to report on how our ads perform, to build audiences (for example, showing ads to people who visited our website, or to people similar to our customers) and to improve the delivery of ads. Meta may also use it for its own purposes under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not send Meta the content of your message, your uploaded files or your delivery address.

You can control how Meta uses this information for ads in the Ad Preferences and Off-Meta Activity settings of your Facebook or Instagram account. You can also block cookies in your browser, although this does not stop information sent through the Conversions API when you submit a form. If you would prefer we do not share your form details with Meta, tell us using the contact details below and we will exclude them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to do business with you, with:

  • Suppliers, decorators, printers and embroiderers who make your products.
  • Couriers and freight companies who deliver your order.
  • Service providers who host our website, store files, send email and help us run our business, such as website hosting, cloud storage, email and accounting providers.
  • Analytics and advertising platforms, including Google and Meta, as described above.
  • Our professional advisers, and government authorities where the law requires it.

These parties may only use your information to provide their services to us or as allowed by their own privacy terms.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including Google, Meta and our website and cloud hosting providers, store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and other countries where they operate. We take reasonable steps to use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Direct marketing

We may send you emails or messages about our products, offers and ideas if you are a customer or have agreed to hear from us. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time. We will still contact you about your quotes and orders.

Storage and security

We store information in secure, password-protected systems with reputable cloud providers and limit access to people who need it. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including keeping order and artwork records so you can reorder, and for as long as tax and other laws require. After that, we delete or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and in limited cases the law allows us to refuse a request, in which case we will tell you why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it quickly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we start using a new tool. The latest version will always be on this page with the date it was last updated.
